Job Description : The Information Specialist will work dailyusing editing and written skills to support the Institute’s mission ofproviding Real-Life Solutions to the state of Tennessee and beyond. The primaryfunctions of this position include: Provideediting and publishing services for clients within all units and departments ofthe Institute of Agriculture. Skills to include editing, revising, reorganizingand rewriting client-provided text in both print and electronic media. Consultwith faculty and staff (clients) regarding their publishing needs, determiningobjectives and scheduling for completing projects, working within universityand Institute guidelines. Provideguidance on UTIA branding and identity guidelines and proactively addressadherence to the guidelines. Writefeature articles, news releases and other promotional materials as needed. Workwith team members to keep marketing and educational materials current and tomaintain a shared database of all printed and electronic products for the Institute. Workcollaboratively and independently within a team of editors, graphic designersand media relations specialists on a variety of publishing needs and projects. Managemultiple projects for both educational and promotional materials, within a fast-paced,deadline-oriented environment. Serveas a liaison to assigned departments or units to coordinate all of theircommunication and marketing needs. The Information Specialist reports to the ViceChancellor of Marketing and Communications.
